Real Oviedo winger Paulino de la Fuente appeared in the Press Room today ahead of a new week's work in the Press Room at El Requexón.

He began by analysing the team's setback in Cartagena, stating that "there's not much time to feel sorry for ourselves. We didn't get the result we wanted, things had become difficult for us pretty early on. We could have done better in the second half, and we have to be self-critical. They pushed on when they had the extra man. From today we are all thinking about winning on Sunday. We are at home and will be playing in front of our fans."

Asked about Homenchenko's dismissal, which had a huge impact on the outcome of the encounter, Paulino de la Fuente reasoned that "the first card was harsh, I didn't think it was a yellow. He rushed in a little bit more for the second one and well, I can't say too much about that kind of decision. We have to learn from all of this and analyse things so that they don't cost us points. It was an opportunity for Homenchenko and it's a shame for him. We have to help him so that he can recover as quickly as possible."

With respect to his return to the starting eleven and his feelings during the match at Cartagonova, the winger highlighted that "I felt good. I'd been a bit worried about my physical level, but I felt better than I had expected. However, it doesn't really matter how I felt, we only think about the team."

With the weekend's encounter with Tenerife now on the horizon, he reasoned that "we have to focus on Sunday, it's a key match. We have to win, and we don't have anything else on our minds. We are playing at home and our fans have never let us down. We can't let them down now. Tenerife are a team that can hurt you, but it's in our hands. We have to try to win at home. It's a new start, and we are working to beat Tenerife."

Finally, asked about the importance of the mental aspect of the game going into this final stage of the season, Paulino highlighted that "whoever is best in that aspect is going to have the best chances. Form is important and we were in good form. We have to remember that."
