Real Oviedo picked up one point, that falls short of what they truly deserved, taking into account their brilliant play style and opportunities. The blue team´s unbeaten spell is extended to eight games.

Real Oviedo started the game playing confidently from the very beginning so much so that Borja Valle could have shot on goal if it had not been for goalkeeper Pacheco's clearance to prevent the Blue player from scoring. Again, it was Borja Valle, after a cross from the left wing that David Fernández controlled to assist the winger, whose low shot close to the post made Real Oviedo take the lead.

As the game progressed the Blues looked much more confident on the ball, gaining possession and the control of the game. Edu Bedia´s long shot from his own field could not get into the goal when Pacheco was far from the posts. Just before half time, Deportivo Alavés had a clear chance but Nacho López made an excellent clearance on the goal line after a save attempt by Esteban.

The second half came quickly to a draw as Toquero managed to beat Esteban after just one minute of play.  From that moment on, Real Oviedo controlled the game as it had during the first forty-five minutes, playing most of the game in the visitors' field.

A first shot by Koné that was skewed gave way to a series of crosses into the box that could not be met by any Blue player. Susaeta had a one on one opportunity in front of Pacheco, but the goalkeeper touched the ball slightly enough to send the ball to corner kick.

There were a couple of actions when Real Oviedo players asked for a penalty kick; first, Koné was brought down in the penalty box and, later on, there was a possible handball by an Alavés player. The Basque side did not have any other clear chance and Real Oviedo deserved better luck in front of the highest attendance of the season so far at Estadio Carlos Tartiere. One of the spectators was Santi Cazorla: home grown player from Real Oviedo as well as shareholder and season-ticket holder.

All in all, Real Oviedo earned a point to leader Deportivo Alavés;  the Blues still remain on play-off spots and extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
