Just as the Real Oviedo Coach had warned during the week, Albacete arrived at the Carlos Tartiere ready to play their game. They were another strong opponent in an extremely even and competitive division. The Asturians didn’t have their best afternoon and couldn’t make the most of their chances on goal in order to claim a greater reward, but they did maintain their unbeaten run at home.
The only change saw Hidi come into the starting line-up to replace the suspended Rocha, as Real Oviedo looked to play their usual game against an Albacete side prepared to do the same at the Carlos Tartiere. The home side couldn’t settle in the first half, and Alfonso kept out the first chance of the match, which fell to Enrique Martín’s team. The best chances for the Asturians were created by Saúl, whose effort was tipped around the post for a corner, and two shots by Linares, one of which was angled towards the top corner. Christian went close to scoring after meeting a set piece.
After the break, Real Oviedo made some adjustments and took a step forward in the match in search of victory. Toché and Fabbrini came on from the bench to freshen up the team as Anquela’s men enjoyed their best spell of the match. The clearest chance fell to Toché from Mossa’s pass, but the keeper pinched it off his toes. Real Oviedo pushed until the final whistle, particularly from set pieces and crosses from the left wing, but they couldn’t find the breakthrough.
Real Oviedo earned a point, which reminds them of the difficulty of the division, ahead of the trip to Zaragoza next week. The next training session will be on Tuesday at 17:00 at El Requexón.
