Today’s match saw a revolution in the starting eleven, with changes right from the goalkeeper to the formation, as the team started with two strikers. Anquela achieved a great reaction from the side, as Real Oviedo emerged before what was a cold Tartiere reception in the early stages, with the fans in the Fondo Norte protesting by not entering the stadium until the 14th minute. The team did enough early on to hook those who were present and should have been able to seal the win inside the first half.
Bárcenas, playing at wing back, had the first chance within the first minute, as he arrived into the box with quality and a fine touch before firing just wide. The goal arrived for Ibra in the ninth minute, as he headed home from a ball swung into the box by Tejera to make the score 1-0. The Asturians continued to dominate following the goal in terms of both play and chances. Folch had the next chance, which Perera tipped over for a corner. Carlos Hernández was next to have an opportunity, as he headed wide from Saúl Berjón's free kick. Tejera had the final chance of the half. He hit a strong drive, which was kept out by Perera, who also intervened to deny Ibra's attempt from the rebound. Mallorca had the better of the first few minutes of the second half, and Real Oviedo paid a heavy price. Lago Junior nudged home from inside the six-yard box to equalise. Real Oviedo reacted once more following the goal. Anquela brought on Javi Muñoz for Joselu, while Saúl suffered a knock and was replaced by Boateng. Real Oviedo found it easy to get into good positions, but couldn't convert their chances. Boateng, Ramon Folch, Ibra and Bárcenas all had chances. However, at the very end it was Champagne who had to intervene to get the better of a one-on-one and maintain a point for 'Los Azules', as they pushed forward in attack and got caught on the counter.
The team will resume training at 10:30 this Tuesday at El Requexón.
