Real Oviedo left Córdoba with a point which felt like scant reward for Juan Antonio Anquela’s team having held the lead for a large portion of the match and finally conceded the equalising goal in the 87th minute.

Real Oviedo started the match with two changes to the line-up, with Fabbrini on the right wing and Cotugno at full back. The Asturians dominated the early minutes of the clash without creating too much danger for the opposition goalkeeper. Rocha tried his luck from the edge of the box, but his shot went over the bar. However, inside the first half-hour of the match, Real Oviedo did manage to break the deadlock. The goal was made on the left wing. Saúl’s pass found Mossa, who in turn fed Fabbrini, who was able to open the scoring. Córdoba responded strongly, with Alfonso being forced into a fine save to deny Reyes’ free kick, which had been destined for the top corner. Fabbrini had another go on the stroke of halftime, but his long-range effort was saved by Kieszek.

Córdoba quickly made changes in the second half as they looked for an equaliser, but Real Oviedo maintained their defensive solidity. Linares had the best chance to make it 0-2 as he moved into the box on his own and received the ball from the left, but he fired wide. Aytami scored an equaliser from a rebound just before the ninetieth minute. Real Oviedo had one final chance prior to the final whistle. Johannesson’s pass went very close to the right-hand upright, but nobody was able to apply the finishing touch.

Finally, Real Oviedo emerged with a point which left them far from satisfied. They again put in a fine performance away from the Carlos Tartiere and now start thinking about the next match, which will see them face Alcorcón. They will begin to prepare for it on Monday, at 10:30, at El Requexón.
