Real Oviedo has come to an agreement to contract the services of attacker Aarón Ñíguez Esclápez, “Aarón”, for the next two seasons.
The player, who is 28 years old, was born on 26 April, 1989 in Elche. Aarón has accumulated a wealth of experience throughout his time with Valencia, Xerez, Iraklis de Tesalónica, Rangers, Celta de Vigo, Recreativo de Huelva, Almería, Elche, Sporting de Braga, y Tenerife, the team he comes to Oviedo from after playing 36 games (2,268 minutes), scoring four goals, and starring in the play-off final for promotion to the Premier Division.
Aarón is a winger who stands at 1.70 meters and is known for his quality, ball control, finishing prowess, and skill in front of the goal. His sporting career has began in the youth system of Valencia, the club he had his Champions League debut with against Roma in the 2006/07 season. With Elche, Aarón played a total of 43 matches in the first division, scoring two goals in two campaigns with the "franjiverde" ensemble. Additionally, the winger has played with the youth teams of the National Team, playing with the u-21's in four occasions.
The native of Elche will begin his pre-season with Real Oviedo on 17 July, after having just finished the season days earlier with Tenerife in a play-off match for promotion to the top flight. After undergoing and passing any required medical exams, Aarón will join the Real Oviedo first team and work under the command of Juan Antonio Anquela in order to be prepared for when the official season begins.
