Matchday 15 in LaLiga Smartbank saw Real Oviedo welcome UD Almería to the NMR Carlos Tartiere, with the Asturians falling to a 2-1 home defeat.
The two changes to the team saw Viti return to the starting eleven, while Blanco Leschuk came back into the attack after suspension. There was a minute's silence prior to kick-off, in memory of Diego Armando Maradona. The first half saw Ziganda's side start with energy and strength, as well as enjoying the better of the possession and the more promising attacks. Almería slowly took greater hold of the ball, while Real Oviedo once more
demonstrated great defensive solidity, dealing with the few chances that were created by the Andalusians. However, the referee then judged Carlos Hernández to have committed a foul on an Almería forward inside the area, and awarded a penalty. The visitors took a 1-0 lead, but Real Oviedo went looking for an equaliser, enjoying a good few minutes. The two teams shared possession and the chances in the final stages of the first half, with Ziganda's side very well-organised defensively.
The second half began with Arribas coming on in place of Carlos Hernández, as Real Oviedo again looked to play at a high tempo. The early stages saw both teams have chances. Ziganda brought on Sangalli as he looked for greater directness on the wing. A Juanjo Nieto cross saw Blanco Leschuk make the most of a loose ball inside the area and beat the Andalusian side's keeper to level the scores. Almería took control of the match after
the equaliser, although Real Oviedo's forwards did still have chances, before the visitors retook the lead. Rodri and Javi Mier came on for Los Azules, before Obeng entered the field in the final moments. Real Oviedo ended the match in search of a leveller, with the whole team pushing forward in attack and trying to find a way through.
Ziganda's side will be back at work tomorrow, as they prepare for Thursday's fixture against Alcorcón at the NMR Carlos Tartiere.
