Ziganda opted for the same starting eleven that had won on Monday at El Molinón, but Real Oviedo left Soria empty-handed today.
Los Azules made clear their intention to threaten the home side's net right from the outset in today's match. Ibra tried his luck from the edge of the box, but Dani Barrio tipped it around the post for a corner. Numancia scored the opening goal of the game from a counterattack. Real Oviedo then scored a seemingly legal equaliser through Rodri, but VAR decreed it to be offside. Cuco Ziganda turned to his bench after the interval, bringing on Mossa and Bárcenas and then Borja Sánchez. Bárcenas was sent off in the 60th minute, after the referee deemed that the Panamanian had kicked out at one of the Numancia players. Real Oviedo continued to try to find a leveller with ten men, but were unsuccessful.
Los Azules will have another chance to get a win this Wednesday when Mirandés visit the Carlos Tartiere.
