Real Oviedo were defeated today in Gran Canaria. Rozada brought Javi Fernández, Bárcenas and Omar into the starting eleven, opting for Sangalli at full back.
Narváez made the score 1-0 in the second minute of the match. Real Oviedo took several minutes to recover from the heavy blow, when they began to get hold of the ball and push forward, albeit without creating any great danger. Viera doubled the hosts' lead on the counterattack, and the sides went in for halftime with the score 2-0.
The Asturians changed their shape for the second half, with Jimmy and Mossa coming on for Tejera and Omar, and they enjoyed their best spell of the match, looking tirelessly for a goal. Most of the threat came from Bárcenas and Mossa on the left, who put several dangerous crosses into the box. Borja Sánchez had the best chance from one of them. with his header on the run grazing the post. Champagne then made a good save from a shot on the counterattack. Las Palmas gathered new strength, and Viera added his second from a free kick to make the score 3-0 and kill the match.
