Defeat at Nuevo Los Cármenes

Following the home draw against Elche CF last time out, Real Oviedo today travelled to Granada in Matchday 32 in LaLiga Hypermotion. Javi Calleja made several changes for today's match, opting for a starting eleven made up of Aarón Escandell, Pomares, David Costas, Dani Calvo, Nacho Vidal, Sibo, Colombatto, Portillo, Chaira, Hassan, and Alemão.

The hosts emerged the stronger side and quickly took the lead. In the 11th minute Boyé volleyed home from one of his team's first opportunities to make the score 1-0. The Asturians were unable to threaten much following the setback, and only a Portillo effort forced the home keeper into action. Hassan produced several flashes of danger down the wing, but ultimately his efforts went unrewarded, and the two teams went in for halftime with the score 1-0.

Seoane came on for Portillo during the interval in attempt to turn things around. Hassan, who was relentless in his efforts, went close with a fine strike from the edge of the area, but the shot grazed the post. Álex Cardero and Sebas Moyano were next to enter the fray. In the final fifteen minutes Javi Calleja's did push on slightly more and had some chances to equalise. Paraschiv met a Hassan cross but steered his effort wide. Paulino came on for Hassan in the final substitution, but the scoreline remained unchanged.

 

The match ended in defeat for Real Oviedo, with thoughts now turning to next weekend's fixture against Málaga CF.
