Real Oviedo didn’t manage to reflect their superiority in the match on the scoresheet during the second preseason friendly. Juan Antonio Anquela once again spread minutes around the squad, with many youth team players featuring, both in the starting eleven and as second half substitutes. Linares and Steven were the architects behind the best first half chances. Verdés’ effort from a corner was denied by Porrón. Lealtad created chances themselves, with Juan Carlos keeping out a shot fired towards the top corner.
In the second half, and with nine replacements made to freshen up the Oviedo ranks, the away side increased their superiority. Real Oviedo had the two best chances, with Folch and Carlos Hernández both being denied in the same passage of play, and then with Toché shooting wide after fine interplay between Saúl and Asier.
This was a further preseason workout following the morning training completed by the team at El Requexón. Los Azules will get back to work tomorrow, at 10:00.
