The first half of the season ended with a goalless draw for Real Oviedo in Fuenlabrada.
Ziganda made just one change to the starting eleven he had selected last time out in Valladolid, bringing Dani Calvo back in following suspension. Real Oviedo began the first half on top and carried the attacking threat, in front of around 100 travelling fans in the stands at the Fernando Torres. A good cross into the box from Jirka was turned out for a corner just when Bastón was arriving at the back post. Brugman had the best opportunity when his quick transition in play and shot was kept out by the keeper, before Jirka's effort from the rebound was blocked. Fuenla gradually started to threaten more in attack, but did not force Femenías into action.
Real Oviedo had less of an attacking threat during the second half than they had prior to the interval. Borja Bastón went closest when his long-range effort grazed the post. Ziganda turned to his bench and altered his formation, bringing on Pombo, Obeng, and Joni Montiel. Montiel would have the final opportunity for the Asturians, but his powerful strike from the right-hand side went wide.
The Real Oviedo first-team squad will now enjoy their winter break.
