With Saúl Berjón missing through suspension, Anquela opted to bring Toché and Fabbrini into the starting eleven in attack against FC Barcelona B.
The team began the game by trying to seize control of the ball against the Barcelona B team, who also contested possession. The first half lacked chances, but Diego Fabbrini had the first with an effort which went wide. Alfonso intervened to tip a shot around the post after a fine move from Gerard López’s side. Carlos Hernández met a left-wing cross at the back post, but his header was saved by Ortola. Shortly afterwards, a controversial move saw Toché’s goal incorrectly ruled out for offside. Juan Antonio Anquela was sent off on the brink of halftime and Real Oviedo went in at the break with the scores level.
The Asturians dominated the second half and created the majority of the chances; frequently arriving in attack but lacking the final ball. First Ramon Folch and then Mossa had good chances, but neither shot was on target. Johannesson and Toché both had low shots stopped by the Barcelona B keeper, and not even the introduction of Linares, Yeboah and Viti was enough to provide the breakthrough. Aarón had the final opportunity, but his lowshot was held by Ortola and meant Real Oviedo left the game without reward, as they picked up a goalless draw.
The team will return to training tomorrow at 10:30 at El Requexón.
