Real Oviedo made every effort until the final whistle, but failed to get any points. The Blues were not rewarded in a game that they dominated, during the whole first half, with several attempts on Leo Franco's goal that were not netted in.

With a defensive line where Josete and Dani Bautista replaced the absent centre backs, Generelo opted for a system to get hold of midfield. A pass from Susaeta gave way to the first chance for Edu Bedia, but his control in the box did not allow him to shoot on goal. Some minutes later, and without any attempts by Huesca on Miño's goal so far, a long ball from Josete connected with Toché, closely marked by both Huesca centre backs. His shot went wide. Again, another Blue defender, Dani Bautista whipped a ball into the centre of the box for Edu Bedia to head wide. The last clear chance in the first half was produced by Borja Valle, whose shot went off the post. After a controversial action, with a possible penalty on Toché, the game reached half time.

In the second half, a couple of minutes were enough for Huesca to nick all three points. Fran Mérida scored after Real Oviedo failed to made progress from the defence. Then, Huesca limited themselves to wait for Real Oviedo in their half. Generelo was quick to react and made some substitutions, bringing attackers on. With Linares, Hevías and Cervero on the pitch, Real Oviedo were set to attack steadily. Susaeta produced a cross from the right wing that could not connect with Linares. Soon after, the centre forward had another chance that was blocked by Leo Franco. Toché made another attempt with a low ball that went wide. Once again, with Huesca's box under siege, Toché had another chance but his shot went high up over the bar. Hervías tried his luck from the edge of the box, but his attempt missed the goal. Then, Real Oviedo had the best chance when Toché shot off the bar after Leo Franco had managed to touch the ball slightly enough.

In the end, Real Oviedo could not get their reward and failed to move closer to the top of the table.
