Real Oviedo midfielder, Ramon Folch, appeared in the Press Room following the team’s morning training session.
The Catalan, who will come up against his former club this weekend, talked about the derby being in the past now, even though he admitted they were “happy to have got the three points. They were important for the fans. We need to focus on Reus now, because it will be difficult. This derby was quite similar to last year’s. We were aware now of what is involved with that match, but this weekend’s would be the three most important points. If we win, everything’s gone well and it’s been a good week.”
Asked about the team’s poor run following the derby last season, Folch stated that, “we are aware that we want more this year. We know what happened last year. You can see it in our work this week; we are focused on Reus.”
It will be a special game for the Catalan, who said, “it will be a nice game against my old club. We are going to try to get the three points, even if I feel bad for them. They are doing things well, even if they’re having a difficult season. They give everything and deserve more points than they have. Sometimes they find it more difficult, but they’re a very good team.”
With Tejera missing this weekend through suspension, Folch highlighted that, “whoever plays will do well. Everyone has featured, and we are all capable of playing well.”
Folch continued by saying that the team wants to “put together two consecutive victories, which is something not many teams do in this division. We want to start a good run; that’s what all of us want.”
Finally, asked about Linares, who will be in the Reus squad this Sunday, the midfielder recalled that, “Miguel is one of those strikers who never believes a ball is lost and who runs for the full ninety minutes, just like other members of their squad. We have to defend their attacks well and add the three points,” he concluded.
