Real Oviedo and Rayo Vallecano have reached an agreement for Joni Montiel to join the Asturians on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old midfielder was born on 3rd September 1998 in Madrid and came through the youth ranks at Rayo Vallecano. After a short loan spell at CD Toledo and a season with Deportivo La Coruña's B team, Montiel has spent the last two seasons with Rayo Vallecano's first team. He has played 55 times during the last two campaigns, achieving promotion to the First Division in June.

Joni Montiel will join up with first-team training in the coming hours, after passing the necessary medical tests at Clínica Asturias. His official presentation will begin at 12:30 this Thursday in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere.
The player will make no statements until the moment of his official presentation.
