Missing Aarón and Carlos Hernández, but with Forlín, Mossa and Christian Fernández available for selection again, Anquela made just one change to his usual starting eleven. Yeboah came in on the right wing at the Estadi Municipal de Reus; a ground which is always difficult for away teams.
The first half proved tough for Real Oviedo as they struggled to create too much danger, but they did defend well against the Catalan side. The first chance fell to Saúl Berjón in the first few seconds of the match, but his shot went wide. Linares was denied by Edgar Badía from the next effort, while Mossa’s left-wing cross also ended up in the hands of the Reus goalkeeper. Verdés then headed wide from a set piece. Reus looked to play long balls to their strikers, but Real Oviedo’s defence was solid at all times. However, the Asturians failed to have too much control of the ball in the first half.
Real Oviedo improved and created more in attack in the second half. The clearest chance fell to Linares, but his two consecutive shots were both saved by Badía. From the next passage of play, the forward once again found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper following Mossa’s pass, but Badía again denied the Real Oviedo captain. The away side did not create too many more chances besides a couple of long-range efforts and set pieces, which didn’t cause too much panic in the home defence.
The match ended with a draw which allowed Real Oviedo to add another point to their tally.
