Paulino de la Fuente, Back in Blue

The winger signs on a two-year deal and will represent Real Oviedo once more

Real Oviedo has reached an agreement for Paulino de la Fuente to return to the club, on a contract running until 30th June 2026.
 
Paulino de la Fuente Gómez is 27 years old and was born on 27th June 1997 in Santander. After coming through the youth academies at Inter Milan and Atlético de Madrid, the winger signed for Deportivo Alavés in the 2016/2017 season. He spent four years with Alavés' B team, before making his first-team debut against Celta de Vigo on 21st June 2020.
 
Paulino then moved on to U.D. Logroñés in the Segunda División, spending a year there, before joining Málaga for the 2021/2022 campaign. He then crossed the Atlantic, moving to Club de Fútbol Pachuca, and was an important player as the Mexican side claimed the Trofeo Apertura 2022, before joining Real Oviedo last season.
 
Last season saw the winger become one of the key players in the Carbayón attack, playing a total of 1,542 minutes in 37 matches. He scoring nine goals and provided one assist in what was his best season so far as a professional, turning into an important player as Real Oviedo reached the playoff final and went close to promotion. The winger now returns to the club to begin work under Javi Calleja as a permanent signing.
