Real Oviedo travelled to Andalucía this Saturday to face UD Almería in Matchday 25 in LaLiga Hypermotion. Following the last-gasp victory against CD Castellón last time out, Los Azules were looking to extend their fine run of away form, and Javi Calleja opted for a starting eleven made up of Aarón Escandell, Nacho Vidal, Costas, Dani Calvo, Pomares, Colombatto, Sibo, de la Hoz, Portillo, Chaira, and Alemão.

The Asturians got off to a fantastic start, and only the goal was missing. The team began the match very strongly, dominating the centre of the field and enjoying the better of the chances. Colombatto met a cross from Nacho Vidal in the 5th minute, but the referee controversially ruled that his effort hadn't crossed the line. Nacho Vidal also had a chance shortly afterwards, but his effort went wide. Calleja's side were on top, although UD Almería did have a couple of opportunities, through Leo Baptistao and Luis Suárez. Los Carbayones, however, were relentless in their attempts. Chaira went close, before the goal finally did arrive. Alemão's effort from a free kick on the edge of the box deflected past the keeper and into the back of the net. The 1-0 lead provided a reward for a fine first-half performance from Real Oviedo.

As would be expected, the hosts emerged strongly for the second half, going in search of the equaliser. Los Carbayones stood firm and demonstrated their defensive solidity, while looking to kill the game on the counter attack. Sebas Moyano and later Paulino de la Fuente came on in an attempt to freshen the team up, although UD Almería managed to level the scores in the 75th minute, with Luis Suárez making the score 1-1. In the 78th minute, Paraschiv and Lucas Ahijado came on in place of Sibo and Nacho Vidal, but the scores remained the same.

This was an important and very creditable point for Real Oviedo, who had chances to extend the lead in the first half, and ultimately put in a great performance away at one of the promotion candidates.
