The backing of the Tartiere was not enough as Real Oviedo fell to one of their few home defeats of the season this afternoon. Alcorcón claimed the three points in added time at the end of the match.
The only change made to the starting eleven by Anquela was the introduction of Hidi in place of the suspended Rocha. Although Real Oviedo controlled the first half, the chances virtually all came from set pieces. The first of the match came from a ball fired in from the left wing, which Casto cleared for a corner. Alfonso also had to intervene to deny an effort from the away side. Christian was next to try his luck from a rebound from a pre-planned move, but his powerful strike just eluded the top corner. Toché also had a chance before the break, after some fine interplay down the left from Saúl and Mossa, but he shot wide.
The home side had their best opportunities during the second half. Toché first fired an effort against the crossbar from inside the area, before having a goal disallowed for offside shortly afterwards. Anquela introduced Aarón and then Linares, and it would be the former who had the next very good chance. The winger headed a left-wing cross narrowly wide at the back post. Finally, in added time, a counter attack from Alcorcón ended with the former Real Oviedo player, Jonathan Pereira, netting to give the away side all three points, on a bad afternoon at the Carlos Tartiere.
The team will return to training on Tuesday, at 18:00, at El Requexón.
