More than thirty years since Real Oviedo's last trip to Sabadell, Nova Creu Alta today saw the Catalans host the Asturians in Matchday 17 of LaLiga Smartbank. The match ended in a 1-0 away win for Real Oviedo.
Ziganda made five changes to the starting eleven from the previous match against Alcorcón, and his side dominated throughout today's game. Real Oviedo pushed throughout the encounter and threatened the goal defended by home keeper Mackay. Los Azules were in command throughout the first half, controlling the ball and possession, but were unable to find the final ball. Javi Mier had one opportunity, while there was another chance just before the halftime interval. After the break, Real Oviedo didn't stop trying to find a way through, with the attackers having the best chances to open the scoring, but it would take them until 65th minute to do so. Sangalli made the most of a fine Mossa assist to break the deadlock. The
two teams shared possession after the goal, with Real Oviedo bringing Rodri Ríos, Borja Sánchez and Simone Grippo on as substitutes. In added time, the referee awarded a penalty to Sabadell, but the decision was overturned following a VAR review.
After adding three important points to their tally tonight, the next match for Los Carbayones will see them face Tenerife on Friday at the NMR Carlos Tartiere.
