Real Oviedo have got back to winning ways, and they did so in a game conditioned by heavy rain over Carlos Tartiere, which hold no quarter during a game that the Blues had under control all the time.

Real Oviedo's first attack was made by Koné in an individual play where the Ivory Coast's striker shot on the run but went narrowly wide of Dani's goal. Toché also tried to strike after a deflected mishot by Borja Valle. Soon after this, Esteban punched off a Tenerife's free kick. A few minutes later, Real Oviedo scored by means of a Toché's header to Susaeta's pass that Dani was unable to save. From that moment on Real Oviedo got to keep possession and Míchel had another chance before half time, with a strong long range shot from outside the penalty box that Dani was able to block in a two-move save.

After half time, Real Oviedo followed suit, increasing their intense pace. They kept on their domination and had some chances to extend their lead. Susaeta's diagonal attempt from outside the penalty box went narrowly wide. Sergio Egea made some substitutions so as to refresh a squad among whom the heavy pitch began to take its toll as the second half progressed. Aguirre and Vila substituted Koné and Míchel, keeping possession until Verdés' sent-off. The Blues centre back saw a second yellow ten minutes before the final whistle in a controversial action where the referee awarded a free kick to the visitors. Tenerife got in control of the game in search of the equaliser, but they failed to create any clear chances on Esteban's goal.

All in all, Real Oviedo picked all three points getting to the third spot on the league table and today they are starting to prepare their next away game to Girona.
