Real Oviedo and Oviedo City Council have reached an agreement to allow the club to change the pitch at the Carlos Tartiere stadium immediately, as they look for the best possible playing conditions for the coming season.

The newly-formed council, in constant contact with the club since their recent election success, has given the green light to this project, which will allow for considerable improvements to the playing field. The club would like to thank the new council for the work done in recent weeks in the search for a solution to a problem seen on numerous occasions, in relation to the state of the pitch, as well as their positive disposition when continuing with conversations regarding further improvements to the stadium.

The process of replacing the pitch will be run by Real Oviedo and take place over the month of July. The work will be carried out by the company 'Jarpa', who are also in charge of looking after and maintaining the facilities at El Requexón.

This process will see necessary work take place to benefit the stadium, which will in turn be beneficial to the club. It will reinforce the image of the city, given that the stadium hosts and welcomes many teams from across the country, in addition to the fans who travel to support said clubs.

This is the first project undertaken at the stadium by the new council, although it is working alongside Real Oviedo to finalise further measures to benefit both the city and the club.
