This morning, one of Real Oviedo’s captains, Dani Calvo, appeared before the media at El Requexón to speak about the start of the league.
Calvo began by reviewing the end of last season and looked ahead to the season to come. “The final was a hard blow, but we’ve regained our hope. We have to forget about last year and above all, we have to learn from it in order to start the season well. We’re really looking forward to getting started after more than a month of preparation and the creation of a great squad”.
When asked about the changes made following the 2023/24 season, Calvo said, “The coaching staff has surprised me in a good way. Their idea of the game is similar to last year’s and I even see it as improved. When comparing this year’s squad to last year’s, we’re equally strong. The Director of Football has done a great job and signed very quickly. I’m very happy with what has come in and that we are keeping working”.
Concerning next Saturday’s game, the centre back said, “we have to learn from last year’s mistakes and the bad start. There are two away games to start with, and we have to go to A Coruña to win. A good start can be the introduction to a good season. It’s much easier to see yourself at the top of the table and it helps to get people more involved”.
