The press conference to present new Real Oviedo goalkeeper Aarón Escandell took place this afternoon at the Hotel Silken Monumental Naranco.
Accompanied by Managing Director Agustín Lleida and Director of Football Roberto Suárez the goalkeeper expressed his excitement about the next step in his career: “It’s a nice challenge. Being at Real Oviedo is a big deal. I want to play here and achieve great things. I’m going to start work from scratch and give it my all,” he said.
Regarding the competition for places with Braat, he said: “The goalkeeper position is very difficult, I met him today and he seems to be a great guy. There will be a very healthy competition. We will both fight for this team and then it will be up to the coach to decide”.
When asked about the summer transfer window, Roberto Suárez said that “the objective is to have the best squad possible, we have to try to get back to the top. The additions and departures will depend on the market, but as I said, we will try to have the best squad possible”.
This afternoon, Escandell, along with the rest of his teammates, will take part in the second training session of the first day of the preseason.
