Real Oviedo forward Borja Bastón received two awards this morning at El Requexón. The prizes are presented by Marca newspaper to the best players of each season.

Club Director of Football Vicente 'Tito' Blanco attended the Goya Theatre yesterday to pick up the awards on behalf of the attacker. The two prizes were the Segunda División 'Pichichi' trophy for the 2021/22 top scorer, and the Segunda División Trofeo Zarra for the same campaign. Borja Bastón received the warmth and admiration from his fellow players following the striker's excellent season last year.

Borja Bastón ended the 2021/22 season with a total of 22 goals, which was enough to see him finish as the joint league top scorer alongside Cristian Stuani. The figure saw him crowned the best goal scorer in the nation and win the Trofeo Zarra.

The Marca awards are presented on a yearly basis to the best players in LaLiga, to reward their great contributions to help make the league one of the best in the world.
