Real Oviedo midfielder Álex Cardero appeared before the gathered members of the media this morning at the training ground.
The academy graduate declared his delight with his personal situation, saying that "I am very happy, hungry, and feeling very good. The only thing that I'm thinking about is Real Oviedo. My mind is on playing football. It's a privilege to be where I am at the age of 20."
Asked about the squad and his personal situation, the Oviedo-born midfielder highlighted that "I want to fight to play wherever I can, the standards are very high. We want everyone to come back from injury now and help the team to get even better. As players we have to adapt to any playing style. I think that the squad and everyone will enjoy this season. It will be a very pleasant year."
Cardero added that "I am incredibly happy, I couldn't be happier or more motivated. I am learning a lot because I am surrounded by incredibly talented people. I come in to train every day, play football, and improve each day."
Real Oviedo will face Club Deportivo Castellón this Sunday, an opponent that Cardero described as "tough". However, he explained that "what we have to do to get the victory is focus on ourselves and try to be better than in the previous match."
