Real Oviedo were back home at the Carlos Tartiere this evening for the Matchday 25 LaLiga Smartbank fixture against Villarreal B. Álvaro Cervera opted for a starting eleven made up of: Braat, Lucas, Rodri Tarín, Dani Calvo, Abel Bretones, Viti, Mangel, Jimmy, Leo Sequeira, Koba and Bastón.

The Asturians looked to dominate the early stages, as is the norm in home matches. However, Villarreal B struck first, within the opening ten minutes, with Fer Niño heading home from a left-wing cross to give the visitors the lead. Despite the setback, Álvaro Cervera's team looked to hit back quickly, and Viti would go close with a fine strike from the edge of the box in the 15th minute. Los Carbayones continued searching for an equaliser and Tarín's header from an Abel Bretones cross would be the next effort to test the away keeper. Bastón also went through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the opportunity was deemed offside in any case.

After the break Bastón would have Real Oviedo's best chance of the match, but his header from Jimmy's cross went over the bar. Los Ovetenses continued to threaten, while Villarreal looked to hold onto their lead, without testing Quentin Braat any further. Real Oviedo did not give up, kept going, and went close on multiple occasions. Viti headed just over the bar from an excellent Bretones cross.

Los Carbayones appealed for a possible penalty for a possible foul on Bastón in the 79th minute, but, despite him being pulled back by the defender, the referee waved play on. Los Azules kept fighting to the death, but in the end were unable to find the leveller. Following seven consecutive home games without conceding, made up of six victories and one draw, Real Oviedo fell to defeat at the Tartiere today. The side will look to bounce back against Málaga at La Rosaleda next time out.

The Asturians will go back to training tomorrow (Sunday), as they prepare for the match in Andalucia.
