Matchday 6 in LaLiga Hypermotion saw Real Oviedo going in search of a second consecutive victory, following the 1-0 win against FC Cartagena at the Carlos Tartiere. Javi Calleja made just one change to the starting eleven, opting for Aarón Escandell, Rahim, Dani Calvo, Oier Luengo, Lemos, Colombatto, Sibo, Seoane, Ilyas, Hassan, and Alemão.
The opening stages of the encounter at the Pepico Amat were dominated by the hosts, while Los Carbayones struggled to either find a consistent threat or gain control of posssession. Seoane had the first opportunity for the Asturians in the 15th minute, but his shot from outside the area went over the bar. After the half-hour mark Javi Calleja's side took a step forward and began to threaten. Seoane again went close, as his free kick was denied by a great save by Mackay. Come the 40th minute, Real Oviedo were looking much stronger, and Alemão took centre stage. His incredible long-range strike flew into the top corner to the delight of the travelling Oviedistas. The joy was short-lived, however, with CD Eldense equalising just before the interval. The home team headed home from a corner, while Real Oviedo appealed for a foul on Oier Luengo.
The second half saw very few chances for either side. Cazorla and Sebas Moyano came on in the 62nd minute in the first changes for Los Carbayones, but Javi Calleja's team still found it tough to find a way through. The final stages brought the introductions of Dotor, Masca, and Lucas. Alemão tested Mackay with a left-footed shot, but the keeper stood up to the challenge. Just as the match seemed destined to end in a draw, Aarón Escandell was forced into a spectacular save to preserve the point.
Real Oviedo now begin preparations for next Sunday's fixture against SD Eibar at the Carlos Tartiere (kick-off 18:30).
