Real Oviedo travelled south this weekend to face Albacete BP in Matchday 14 in LaLiga Hypermotion. Having picked up three points against Burgos CF last time out, Los Azules went into today's encounter with the aim of picking up three points away from home and continuing to strengthen their position towards the top of the table. Javi Calleja opted for a starting eleven made up of Aarón Escandell, Rahim, Dani Calvo, Jaime Vázquez, Luengo, Sibo, Colombatto, Cazorla, Chaira, Hassan, and Alemão.

The match began in a very even fashion, with the two teams demonstrating mutual respect for one another. Two tough challenges from Rai and Juanma saw the players receive yellow cards in what were the main talking points prior to Alemão breaking the deadlock. The Brazilian forward capitalised on a poor clearance to fire home emphatically on the volley to make the score 1-0. Javi Calleja's side had taken the lead, but in first-half stoppage time Albacete found an equaliser. Rahim brought down Rueda inside the penalty area, and Quiles made no mistake from the penalty spot. The teams went in for the interval with the score 1-1 and all to play in the second half.

Real Oviedo regained the lead just after the restart thanks to another Alemão goal. The Brazilian striker was the quickest to react, as he pounced on the rebound from Cazorla's effort to make it 2-1 to the away side. The travelling Oviedistas celebrated the goal, although the joy was shortlived. Three minutes later Riki provided a fine assist and Rueda fired past Aarón to equalise. The match became an end-to-end affair, and Javi Calleja brought on Paraschiv and Sebas Moyano in place of Hassan and Cazorla. Chaira tried his luck from outside the area, and Alemão appealed for a penalty, but Real Oviedo were unable to find a way through. In the final ten minutes Dotor and Lucas came on in place of Sibo and Luengo, although the match finished in a 2-2 draw.

The draw at the Carlos Belmonte leaves the Asturians fourth in the table on 23 points.
