Real Oviedo today secured a sixth consecutive home victory and maintain their impeccable run of form at the Carlos Tartiere. Sibo, Hassan, and Seoane were on the scoresheet on what was a happy afternoon for Los Carbayones, as the team moved on to 26 points and up to second in the table.

Real Oviedo emerged dominantly for the first half, as has become the norm in home games, and Alemão went close in the 5th minute. The Brazilian forward met a fine cross from Hassan, but his effort was directed wide. In the 9th minute Sibo sent the crowd wild with a great strike from outside the box to open the scoring, before marking his first goal for the club with a very Asturian celebration. Los Azules continued to push forward following the goal, and Hassan added a second in the 16th minute. With a two-goal lead, the Asturians did however suffer one setback, being forced to bring Paraschiv on in place of an injured Alemão. Just before the interval VAR intervened to award the visitors a penalty for a Sibo handball, but Aarón Escandell kept the spot kick out.

Seoane and Sebas entered the fray after half-time in the 58th minute, and the third goal arrived not long afterwards. Seoane marked his return to action in the best way possible, scoring a fine individual goal. Our side were well on top, and Del Moral and Viñas came on in the final substitutions. In the final minutes Leon scored a consolation goal for the away team.

Today's 3-1 win saw Los Azules continue their fantastic home run and move up to second on 26 points, with thoughts now turning to the league fixture against Elche CF.
