Real Oviedo visited Lezama today to face SD Amorebieta in Matchday 12 of LaLiga Hypermotion. Los Azules went into the encounter off the back of the 3-0 win against Albacete BP, and with the clear intention of extending their fine run of form and picking up another victory. Luis Carrión opted for a starting eleven made up of Leo Román, Abel, David Costas, Dani Calvo, Oier Luengo, Colombatto, Luismi, Sebas, Viti, Seoane and Borja Bastón.
The opening stages of the match were a very even affair, with very few chances and mutual respect on display. Borja Bastón would have the first opportunity of the day, pouncing on a rebound from Viti's strike, but his effort was just off-target. The forward would have another chance a few minutes later after being played clean through by a fine Colombatto through ball, but, after cutting back inside the defender, he was unable to turn his effort goalwards. Real Oviedo grew in strength as the minutes ticked by, although SD Amorebieta would also threaten. Nevertheless, the two teams went in for the half-time interval with the score still 0-0.
The Asturians stepped up the tempo for the second half, and Seoane was the first to go close. Viti made a fine solo run down the wing before playing the ball into the midfielder, but his first-time effort grazed the bottom of the post. Camarasa, Jimmy, Cazorla, Sesé, and Alemão came on during the second half as Los Carbayones continued to search for the winner. Los Azules dominated the final 15 minutes completely after the hosts went down to ten men, but were unable to break the deadlock.
The match finished 0-0, and the team could only pick up a point from the trip to Lezama. Real Oviedo will go back to training at 10:30 tomorrow, as preparations begin for the fixture against Alcorcón at the Carlos Tartiere.
