Jon Pérez Bolo Named the New Real Oviedo Head Coach
The Basque coach has signed a deal for the coming season and will be joined by his coaching staff

Real Oviedo has reached an agreement for Jon Pérez Bolo to become the new First-Team Head Coach. The Bilbao-born coach has signed a deal lasting until June 2023.
Jon Andoni Pérez Alonso, Bolo, is 48 years old and was born on 5th March 1974 in Bilbao. As a player, he came through the youth ranks at Athletic de Bilbao before representing the first team, before also playing for CA Osasuna, Hércules CF, Rayo Vallecano, Gimnástic de Tarragona, CD Numancia and Barakaldo CF. After beginning his coaching career with Arenas de Guetxo, he moved on to Barakaldo CF, taking charge of 115 matches. He then became Head Coach at SD Ponferradina, the club he now joins Real Oviedo from. He took charge of Ponferradina in a total of 176 matches, leading the side to promotion to LaLiga SmartBank in 2018/19, before finishing in eighth place last season.
Jon Pérez Bolo will be joined by his coaching staff: Pablo Lago, as Assistant Coach, Pablo Javier Santis Mandiola as Fitness Coach, and his assistant Asier Díez Bonilla.
The new Real Oviedo Head Coach will be presented in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere at 12:00 this Thursday.
