Real Oviedo were back at the Carlos Tartiere this Sunday for another league fixture. Having put together four consecutive victories, the side found themselves up against Real Zaragoza in Matchday 39 in LaLiga SmartBank. Álvaro Cervera opted for a starting eleven made up of Tomeu Nadal, Lucas, David Costas, Luengo, Abel Bretones, Moro, Luismi, Camarasa, Viti, Manu Vallejo and Sergi Enrich.

The opening stages were an even affair, with the Asturians looking to impose their playing style and threaten the visitors. Lucas put in several crosses from the right wing, but he was unable to find his intended targets. Sergi Enrich went closest in the 30th minute after a fine team move, but his effort from the edge of the box went wide and the score remained 0-0.

Real Oviedo had stepped up a gear, and seven minutes later they would get their reward in the form of a goal. Some fine individual play from Moro ended in the winger putting the ball on a plate for Viti Rozada to open the scoring. There were few changes in the final moments of the first half, and Los Carbayones went in for the interval with a 1-0 lead.

After the break, one of Real Zaragoza's few attacks would end in a goal, as Bermejo fired home a fine effort from range. Nevertheless, Álvaro Cervera's side did not take long to respond, and Manu Vallejo went close with a warning shot in the 61st minute. The attacker tried his luck on the half turn, but his effort was denied by the keeper.

Ten minutes later, Enrich had the chance to put Los Azules back into the lead, but he couldn't quite find the back of the net. Sequeira and Masca came on in the 77th minute to try to recover the advantage, and it would be the Portuguese forward who did find the winner. The striker's powerful shot from the edge of the box left the away keeper helpless, as he scored his first goal for the first team.

This was Real Oviedo's fifth consecutive victory and sees the side go into next week's Asturian derby in top form. These three points move Cervera's team up to eighth place, on 55 points.
