Real Oviedo and Miguel Pérez Cuesta “Michu” have reached an agreement for the youth product, shareholder and season-ticket holder to become the club’s new Technical Secretary.
Following the departure of Ángel Martín González, Michu will join the management structure of the club immediately and begin his new role at the club, having occupied the same post at UP Langreo up until now.
Having come through the academy at Real Oviedo, Michu made his first-team debut for Real Oviedo In 2003. Following a professional career featuring spells at Celta de Vigo, Rayo Vallecano, Swansea, Napoli and Langreo, he returned to Real Oviedo for the 2016-17 season, where he played the final season of his professional career under Fernando Hierro. Michu gave up the final year of his contract as a player and hung up his boots in order to continue his training and take up a position in the sport management structure at Unión Popular de Langreo. He now rejoins Real Oviedo from UP Langreo.
Miguel Pérez Cuesta has signed a contract to become the Real Oviedo Technical Secretary for the next two seasons. He will be presented to the first-team squad in the next few hours and begin work. He returns once more, albeit in a different role, to what is his club: Real Oviedo.
We are delighted to have you back home, Michu. Dreams can come true.
