Real Oviedo SAD yesterday received a notification from the National Sports Council (CSD), through the Permanent Commission of the State Commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport. The notification detailed their conclusions “having discussed the group of Real Oviedo SAD supporters known as Symmachiarii”, as well as the legal implications arising from them, to make our club aware of them.
The club has not received any further communications nor any official information about the facts which motivated this measure by the CSD and the Anti-violence Commission. As such, the club has the duty to collect all the necessary information in order to be able to produce any type of declaration or official measure, while always respecting the framework of
the law. The club also never forgets and remains true to the key role of our fans in the past, present and future of our club.
In addition, Real Oviedo wishes to issue a reminder that there are currently no season ticket holders with sanctions in place whic demonstrate violent attitudes. Real Oviedo, which will continue to comply with all rules in place, as it has done up until now, also wishes to show our respect to our fans and to their right to defend themselves and the presumption of innocence.
Finally, the club deeply regrets this situation, in which social stability and the union between club and fans, crucial for the continual growth of our club, is being put at risk. Our fans have been, are, and will always be the motor and the heart of Real Oviedo. Without their tireless and unconditional support, which has moved the world, we would not be alive today. They have demonstrated their commitment by giving everything to keep us alive and never abandon us. This same commitment means that we are and will always be at their side.
The Board of Directors is conscious of how vital our social base is, as the force behind our club, and aware that the badge and pride of our Real Oviedo is and will always be far greater than any of us.
