The NMR Carlos Tartiere this evening hosted the latest match in LaLiga Smartbank, with Real Oviedo coming up against Rayo Vallecano. The fixture ended in the points being shared.
Carlos Hernández, Arribas and Mossa came into the starting eleven seen last week in Girona, as Ziganda's side emerged for the latest home match wearing shirts in support for the campaign against breast cancer. Today saw the Asturians up against one of the strongest teams in the division, as had been highlighted by the Coach in the Pre-Match Press Conference. The first half saw the two sides share possession of the ball, while Real Oviedo displayed organisation and defensive solidity. Borja Sánchez and Nahuel had the best chances of the first half. Joan Femenías also made a fine intervention to prevent the Madrid-based side from opening the scoring. Rayo Vallecano took control of the game after the break, preventing Los Azules from creating danger. Ziganda brought Aburjania on for his Real Oviedo debut, as well as turning to Viti and Obeng. The latter had the best chance of the match, but was brought down by a Rayo defender in the box. Just as in the first half, Real Oviedo keeper Femenías proved crucial, making one fine stop.
Real Oviedo picked up another point today. The side will return to training tomorrow, as it begins to prepare for the next fixture, which will see Los Carbayones face Leganés.
