This afternoon, the GAM facilities in Asturias hosted the official presentations of Álvaro Lemos and Carlos Dotor as the newest Real Oviedo players. The two most recent signings appeared before the media with Managing Director Agustín Lleida and Director of Football Roberto Suárez and expressed their enthusiasm and joy about signing for Real Oviedo.
Álvaro Lemos explained, “I’m going into this new period with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of desire. I didn’t hesitate when I heard about Real Oviedo’s offer." The right-back, who arrives from UD Las Palmas, will compete with Lucas Ahijado for the starting spot. “The competition for places, if it’s healthy, will help a lot. I see the team as a very good one with a lot of potential,” he said.
Carlos Dotor then explained that “there are very good players in the squad. Seeing that there is a good plan and quality players in the squad are two things that have encouraged me to come here”. After being asked about Santi Cazorla the midfielder stated, “I will be proud to play with Cazorla. He is an incredible talent. I’m learning from him, listening to him, watching him, and I’m looking forward to training with him”.
Finally, Roberto Suárez took to the floor to talk about the market and evaluate the current squad. “The priority now is to fill spaces in the squad that are light, such as the winger position. We are looking to have a balanced squad in order to make the best possible team”.
