The Real Oviedo player, Saúl Berjón, received the award that names him as ' Jugador 5 Estrellas Mahou' for the 2017-18 season.
The Oviedo-born winger, who received the 'Jugador 5 Estrellas Mahou' in September and January, has been awarded the above-mentioned recognition as the player from the first team that has received the most votes during the entire campaign. After receiving the award, Saúl Berjón recognized that "the beginning of this week was more difficult than normal. Saturday, we haveto win, then whatever happens, happens."
Personally, the Oviedan assures that "I have never lived a moment like this. But now we have to focus on Huesca. I came here to add, to reach a goal, and it's frustrating. You have to thank the people for these awards, but the individual doesn't matter, the group is the most important."
Regarding the mood he expects this Saturday at Carlos Tartiere, the winger states that "I expect a supportive Tartiere. It is an incredible atmosphere that you can almost taste; they've supported us all year. We must have hope, that what needs to happen will happen and that at the 90th minute, we can celebrate."
When asked about the options the team have to get into the Play Off in the last match, the blue striker believes that "we have to try until the last minute. My dream is to play with this team in Primera."
In regard to the assessment that he makes of the season, Saúl Berjón understands that "the away games in this category are always complicated. I think that in this case, the referees are rarely biased in our favour and are often biased against us, even though that doesn't count as an excuse. We have to look at ourselves, knowing that when nobody was beating us, we were an incredible team. We should become that team again next season. I believe there is a good foundation, as we are at the doors of the Play Off. We have fought until the end; that says a lot about our foundation. This year a good team was created."
Finally, about their next rival, Huesca, Saúl expects a "team that have the championship at stake, that will come to make a good game. However, they will try to not hurt themselves because their next season will be in Primera. We are going to make it a good game and look for a victory so that if everything else works out we can make it in," he concluded.
