Real Oviedo forward José Verdú Nicolás “Toché” made an appearance in the press room at El Requexón.
With regard to the beginning of LaLiga, the Murcian stated that, “We were ready for the friendly matches to be over, the good part is starting. We’re at our maximum, excited for Sunday to get here. This week there’s a lot of tension, we all want to be ready. We have to start off on the right foot. Step by step, with humility.”
On the Real Oviedo project for this season, Toché highlighted that, “There have been a lot of changes, a different roster. This year some great players have come, they’re going to contribute. We have to make a great team. I think we have a lot of options. I’ll try to score a lot of goals, contribute to the team. The gaffer will be the one who decides.”
Regarding his career with Real Oviedo, the forward commented that, “This is my fourth season, each one has been different. Things are being done better each year and we have to fight hard so that everything can turn out well.” In addition, on his role as captain, the Murcian stated that, “It’s a big responsibility for me, it’s the greatest. I feel very special, I have to meet expectations and contribute.”
Asked about the expectations he has for the season, Toché recognized that, “As a group that’s what we all have in mind. We are all going to fight for the team to get promoted, but we have to do things humbly. We must be a close group.”
Finally, on their next opponent, Extremadura, the Carbayón forward understands that, “They’re going to be a difficult opponent, but nobody wins without running and without fight. Commitment and humility, it’s going to be a complicated match,” the Murcian concluded.
