Real Oviedo returned to the Carlos Tartiere this Sunday for the Matchday 13 fixture in LaLiga Hypermotion against Burgos CF. The side were looking to bounce back from the midweek cup defeat and get back to winning ways with a morale-boosting victory. Javi Calleja opted for a starting eleven made up of Aarón Escandell, Lemos, Oier Luengo, Calvo, Rahim, Del Moral, Colombatto, Cazorla, Hassan, Chaira, and Alemão.
Los Carbayones weren't at their best during the opening stages of the encounter. Cazorla, Del Moral, and Colombatto found it difficult to get hold of the ball, while the team as a whole struggled to create chances. Burgos, meanwhile, looked constantly to get in behind the Asturians' defence, and that was how the first goal of the encounter would arrive. Fer Niño found a way past Aarón Escandell in the 26th minute, after some poor defensive work from the hosts. Just as it seemed that Real Oviedo would go in for half time trailing, Luengo found an equaliser. The two teams went in for half time with the score 1-1, following a first half to forget, which also featured injury to Lemos. Jaime Vázquez came on in his place, with Luengo moving to full back.
The second half followed a completely different pattern, and Real Oviedo changed drastically. Hassan had two early chances, going close to breaking the deadlock. Alemão was next to go close, not quite finding the way to slip through Hassan one-on-one. Paraschiv and Sibo came on in the 65th minute as Los Azules went in search of victory, and it would be the Romanian forward who would make it 2-1. Cazorla's precise cross was met perfectly by Paraschiv, who headed home to send the crowd crazy. The match changed completely, and Real Oviedo continued in search of a third. Eventually, in the 88th minute, Chaira sealed the win to give the team three important points.
Real Oviedo moved onto 22 points and sit fourth in the table, albeit with fixtures remaining this matchday.
