Real Oviedo striker Álex Millán appeared before the Press this morning at El Requexón. He discussed his feelings following the long-term injury which had kept him out for more than six months, and his return to the matchday squad last weekend.
"On a personal level I am very happy to be back with the team and to be closer to being able to help. I am feeling good and hungry. It was a long injury and I have to take it little by little. I am trying to get up to the same speed as my teammates. This week is very important in order to try to get back to 100%," he stated.
Álex Millán declared his gratitude for everyone's support, saying that "it's been tough. When I came here I was very excited to be able to do things, but I've been lucky to work with incredible people in both the medical staff and my teammates. It's been a long wait, but I'm closer to being able to help now." After suffering the injury during preseason in Mexico, Millán was clear that "my idea was to get back to El Requexón as soon as possible. Four days after the operation I came here, it was my way of being closer to my teammates and feeling useful. I've become close to the other injured players. Being lucky enough to have players like Cazorla at my side has helped me a lot, and being with Rodri Tarín was also crucial for me."
Regarding the exact moment of his injury, the forward commented that "I knew that something had happened. I didn't think it was so serious, but everything happens for a reason and I'm sure that it has made me a better footballer. I've had time to myself and I've worked a lot. You have to dedicate hours to it every day, and I want to become important at this club. I haven't thought too much about exactly when I will be back playing. It's true that I would love to make my debut at home, but the most important thing will be to win. That's all I ask for."
Going into this weekend's encounter Millán had a clear message, saying that "I have confidence in this team and I will go to war with this team. Levante is a good team, but we can stand up to them man-to-man and go for the win."
