Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera today appeared in front of the media ahead of Monday's fixture against Málaga CF at the Carlos Tartiere.
The Coach began by analysing the state of his squad going into the match against the Andalusians. "There are some who will make it, and others who won't. David Costas will be back, he's been training since Thursday. The others are training, but haven't been cleared to play. Pomares has a problem now, and I don't think he will be available, but we will see. We've had quite a lot of injuries, but that's football."
Regarding the starting eleven which he will use against Málaga, Cervera admitted that "every two hours I have a different team in mind. I am always thinking about what the eleven will be. We also have to analyse our opponent, but I have an idea of how we are going to play. I am looking for an identity, for us to always know what we are doing, and for them to believe. We can't be changing things every fifteen minutes to see what works. We have to believe in a way of playing."
With respect to the work that has been carried out during the week, the Coach stated that "we have focused on the football, but it needs to help their morale too. We couldn't stop to train things which saw them standing still. We had dynamic training sessions. We are training to recover morale."
Finally, asked about the next opponent, Álvaro Cervera highlighted that "I think Málaga have a spectacular squad. They have players who have played in the First Division, but they haven't started well. They are very dangerous, and I am expecting them to want the ball. We will try to make sure that it's us that gets the chances."
