Real Oviedo player, Borja Sánchez took to the Press Room on Wednesday, talking about the current situation in the fourth week since the team started preseason training. The academy graduate was optimistic and looking forward to the start of the league. Ahead of the start of the new campaign, the team will have to face the last two matches of preseason in the Trofeo Teresa Herrera.

The winger commented, “These friendly matches have little to do with the league matches. We need to continue putting in good performances. We’re looking forward to the start of the season in A Coruña”.

When asked about the new coaching staff and presence of Javi Calleja, Borja Sánchez replied that “the Gaffer and the coaching staff have arrived with a lot of enthusiasm. They are working very hard, and we are incredibly happy. We’re looking forward to starting the league and achieving good results”. The player added that “the presence of Diego Cervero is important, especially for those of us from Oviedo. The atmosphere is good and the people who have arrived are positive. We’re all very comfortable in the changing room and it shows”.

“It’s been a tough pre-season, but the workload has always been controlled. We’ve had a lot of training sessions, and that will help us when the season starts”, concluded Borja Sánchez, who, like the rest of the squad, is already looking ahead to the league opener at Riazor.
