Real Oviedo defender Carlos Pomares spoke to the gathered members of the media this morning in the Press Room at El Requexón. The defender began by discussing his return to action after injury, saying that "last week I was able to train with the team and play, and the fact that this is a long week of training sessions is good for me. I am ready for whatever the Gaffer needs."

Regarding the team's situation following back-to-back defeats, the left back highlighted that "what we were doing before was working out for us, but now we are finding it harder to convert our chances and we are being being punished more for our mistakes, but we can't be overly dramatic. It's true that they have been heavy defeats and that can't happen, but we mustn't forget that a couple of weeks ago we were second, and we have to keep going. One thing we have in our favour this year is that we don't have to come back from a large deficit of points like other years, and that is very important in order to be up there and keep fighting."

He continued by adding that "we are calm, but the goals and the heavy defeats give a false impression as to how we are doing. They are two very bad results, but Segunda is a very difficult division. We are very keen to turn things around, but it's not a catastrophic situation. In the same way that when things started badly and we fought back everything seemed good, now it can seem like it's the opposite and that being eighth is the end of the world. That's not the case."

The defender concluded by declaring that "La Liga doesn't end tomorrow, and I think it's important to keep calm and trust in the project. We have to try to enjoy the process. Being eighth and so close to the playoffs is not a drastic situation and we shouldn't worry too much."
