Real Oviedo had lost their hopes of taking a positive result from their trip to the Sánchez Pizjuán by halftime, having conceded three times and failed to create almost anything of note in attack. A shot from Jorge Ortiz from the edge of the area went wide of the left hand upright. Meanwhile Sevilla Atlético managed to make the most of their few attacks, first scoring from the penalty spot, before profiting from Héctor Verdés’ ill fortune when attempting to clear a loose ball, to make it 2-0. Finally, they added a third from a counter attack, which involved a possible offside in the build-up.

As such, the second half began with the hosts holding a significant advantage. Saúl Berjón and Toché came on in place of David Rocha and Jorge Ortiz and Real Oviedo shook themselves off and became the team with more opportunities in the match, with first Toché and then Susaeta trying their luck. Toché came closest, after a fine move from Saúl Berjón and Linares which left the forward in space in the area, but he failed to find the target. Shortly afterwards, he did manage to cut the deficit from the penalty spot. However, Sevilla Atlético then hit back with their fourth. Susaeta tested his luck with a low strike, and then the Andalucian B team responded with their fifth goal. Toché and Linares grabbed two further consolation goals for Real Oviedo, in a match in which Real Oviedo had all but lost by half time.

The team will return to Asturias tomorrow, and resume training on Tuesday at 10:30, at El Requexón.
