Ahead of Real Oviedo Genuine's final match of the LaLiga Genuine Santander 2019/2020 season in Tarragona, Coach Carlos Cano told his plays to "enjoy it, have fun, and respect your opponents." Los Azules put in a great performance, finishing the competition with two wins and one defeat this weekend.
The hunger and excitement were clear from start to finish, right from a week prior to the competition when the players were unable to hide their nerves ahead of the trip to Tarragona. In addition to meeting up with their fellow players once more, they were also able to enjoy the wonderful moments which footballing events like this one gift us. The first match saw Real Oviedo face Real Betis and Los Azules would come out on top thanks to goals from Juanín, Raúl and Jony. After the match, the two teams gathered for a photo together, in a clear show of the values which this competition exemplifies. The next LaLiga Genuine Santander fixture saw Real Oviedo face another Andalusian side in Sevilla FC, with the Asturians coming out on top once again. The team did a good job, with Juanín, Raúl and James on the mark.
With all still to play for, what was on paper the toughest fixture saw Real Oviedo Genuine face RCD Espanyol on Sunday. The Catalans would come out on top, but our team showed us once more that good work bears fruit in a fine showing against a great team.
This was a very positive weekend for Real Oviedo Genuine in Tarragona. After the game against RCDE Espanyol, Head Coach Carlos Cano explained that "the lads enjoyed it and they continue to improve every day. Thanks to LaLiga Genuine Santander and its social aspect the boys are able to demonstrate to society, and to themselves, that they are capable."
