Still Proud of You

Real Oviedo is working to strengthen its links with its international fans and shareholders, with events to mark the tenth anniversary of the internationalisation of the club

In November 2012 Real Oviedo carried out a share campaign with its future at stake. Now, the club, through the Social Area of the Foundation, is making the most of the 10th anniversary of the 'Proud of You' movement to take steps to strengthen its links with its international shareholders.

The project seeks to improve communication with fans of Los Azules from outside of Spain, and among the work to be continued and carried out from now on is the following:

  • Provide assistance with our international followers' visits, helping them to find offers for accommodation, match tickets, stadium tours, and recommendations. International fans can receive such help through the email address supporters@realoviedo.es
  • A continuation of the English version of our webpage, with content posted every day of the year, as well as an English version of our newsletter being sent to our international shareholders.
  • Monthly online meetings with different groups of foreign fans.
  • Visibility of our international followers' visits through our social media profiles.
  • Prize draws

These are just some of the activities which have an ultimate goal of strengthening the unique significance that Real Oviedo has in the world.

The weekend of Friday 25th - Sunday 27th November will serve to demonstrate this work. The club is offering a behind-the-scenes tour of all aspects of the club, to allow international shareholders to see how the club has changed over the course of the past 10 years. At the current time almost twenty shareholders have stated their intention to make the trip, arriving in Oviedo from the UK, Ireland and the USA, with the weekend's activities still open to further international fans who wish to join. The #ExperienciaRO will include tours of our facilities at Tensi, Fundoma, El Requexón and the Carlos Tartiere stadium, presence at a first-team training session, cultural activities, and a VIP experience at Real Oviedo's match against Mirandés on Saturday 26th November. Further information is available at supporters@realoviedo.es.

This project aims to provide a boost to the Proud of You movement; a movement which Real Oviedo will be forever grateful for.
