The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere played host to the presentation of Real Oviedo’s LaLiga Genuine side this lunchtime. The team will begin to participate in this competition this season.
This is part of an integrating and socially responsible project which seeks to normalise the practice of football; getting the society involved in combining professional football with diversity and inclusion.
Real Oviedo joins more than 300 footballers, 72 coaches, and 18 clubs who took part in this initiative promoted by LaLiga last season.
Real Oviedo’s LaLiga Genuine side will train weekly at Fundoma, as they prepare for the competition, which will consist of 6 matchdays.
Real Oviedo wish to thank Colegio Latores, Asociación de Sindrome Down Asturias and ADANSI for their collaboration with the project.
The act of presentation was attended by the Board of Directors of the club, as well as first-team players, Saúl Berjón, Christian Fernández and Toché. Jorge Menendez Vallina issued a welcome, stating that, “you are a team representing our club, so you will have to train hard. It’s something to be very happy about, and I’m sure you will wear the badge with a lot of pride.”
The Real Oviedo LaLiga Genuine side will begin training in the coming days, and you will be able to follow their day-to-day work through our official media channels.
