Real Oviedo Head Coach Luis Carrión appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning.

Going into the encounter with Real Valladolid, the Coach analysed the week's work, saying that "we are going into it calmly. We know that we put in a good performance (against Burgos), but it doesn't mean anything now. We are focused on tomorrow's match. It's important for us and we want the three points."

With respect to last time out against Burgos and his team's fine showing, Carrión reasoned that "I don't know if it was the best we've been all season, since we have played well in other matches. I don't think there was such a big difference between what we did against Burgos and what we did at El Molinón. We are on the same path, and it should see us win more than we lose. Now we want to get another win."

Luis Carrión's first Real Oviedo match was in the reverse fixture against Real Valladolid at the Carlos Tartiere. Regarding that encounter and what it meant for his team's growth, the Catalan stated that "in the long run that defeat was a good thing. It's not good to lose, but I saw a lot of good things to make me believe in what we were doing. We want to win now. We are in good form, and we want it."

With regards to the calculations being made in the changing room in order to reach the promotion places, Luis Carrión was clear that "we want to be there after 42 matches. We are on an upwards trajectory and tomorrow has to be another day like that. We have to go out with ambition. We want to be in one of those spots at the end of the season. We are doing well, but we can still do better. This has to keep developing, since the team has the hunger to improve. We want to stay in the fight, and we are capable of anything."

Asked about Álex Millán's chances of coming into the matchday squad, the Gaffer explained that "he's here to help the team and we are weighing up putting him in. When he starts playing he won't be at 100%. He has a lot of hunger and the team needs that kind of person. He is desperate to play, has goals in him, and is a good striker."

Regarding the next opponent, Real Valladolid, the Coach believes that "they are different to Burgos and we are going to do other things to hurt them. We have seen their matches and we are going there with that intention. They are a great team, well-worked, and have different options. They have strengthened well and have their ideas clear. We came out of the Gijón match angry and we have to maintain that until the end of the season. This week is the same. There are fifteen matches left and if you don't keep winning you will drop down the table. We have to win a lot of matches in order to fight for everything. It's a good matchday when Oviedo wins, that's enough for us. We have to work and win."

Finally, discussing the mass away following expected at tomorrow's encounter, Carrión highlighted that "it's something that gives us extra responsibility and motivates us. The match is at 20:30 on a Friday night. For us it's incredible (that so many Oviedistas will travel), and we have been experiencing it in a lot of matches. For us it gives us an extra boost and extra strength to win."
